You may have had a close encounter with a Black and Gold Bumble Bee queen!Or maybe you’ve enjoyed a quiet half hour among the flowers and been astounded by the busy-ness, concentration and grace of a few fat fuzzy bees? These could have been any of Iowa’s roughly 15 species of Bumble Bee.

Phil Shaff a Master Gardener will be at the Vinton Depot on Monday, April 7th at 6:30 p.m. for this FREE Event!He will be talking about how to select the right plants to how to harvest fresh ingredients.

On Sunday, April 13, the Newhall Lions Club will hold their annual pancake brunch fundraiser. The meal will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The meal will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, Newhall locker sausages and biscuits with gravy and the cost is a free will donation.

There will be a neighborhood garage sale on Friday, April 4th from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.Sales will be happening at 802, 803 and 805 West 17th St.
